About This Project

Working with Sefton Council alongside the R&A, to plan & deliver ‘The Summer of Golf’ – The first off-site interactive golf fanzone of it’s kind, during The 146th Open at Royal Birkdale. Staged to drive footfall into Southport to maximise the economic impact of the World’s leading golf event, Welcoming residents, regional visitors and the record breaking 235,000 attendees from around the world.

 

Over 15,000 visitors attended over the 14 days, delivering 1,689 free PGA Golf lessons and encouraging 1,000 of visitors to pick up a golf club for the first time to engage with the interactive experiential activities including ‘The Longest Putt’ and ‘Bunker Challenge.’

 

The iconic 30ft ‘Hole in One’ golf ball Sculpture became a centre piece and delivered global media coverage, promoting the event and town to a global audience.
